每天一词：“承诺“的英文表达方式”

    由于词汇有不同的词汇类型(lexical type), 可分为基本词汇和专业词汇，褒义词汇和贬义词汇，不同的语境和文体使用的词汇类型也不同。以“承诺”一词为例，有这个含义的英文词汇有promise, comittment等等。最常见也是最常用的当然是promise一词，promise to do sth这个词组多用于日常用语中。 

    例如： 麦克承诺明天一早跟我们一起去野餐。  

   Mike promises to have a picnic with us tomorrow morning

   但在法律合同或政府文件中，promise显然不能适用于正式文体。 在法律文体中，我们常使用undertake一词。 

   例如：甲方承诺在第二阶段工程中增加施工人员以加快建设。  

   Party A undertakes to increasethe number of  construction personnel in the second phase of the project to speed up the construction.

   在政府文件中，常使用pledge to do sth这一词组。

   例句：政府承诺坚定维护多边贸易体制，推动建设开放型世界经济，反对单边制裁和“长臂管辖”。

   The governement pledged to firmly uphold the multilateral trading system, advance the building of an open world economy and oppose unilateral sanctions and "long-arm jurisdiction".
