The Office of U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) on Tuesday published a proposed list of Chinese goods subject to additional 25 percent tariffs amid strong opposition fromChinaandU.S.business groups.
清单涉及航空航天、信息和通信技术、机器人和机械等行业，包含大约1300个独立关税项目。美国贸易代表办公室建议对清单上中国产品征收额外25%的关税，称此举旨在弥补美国在科技领域所遭遇的损失。美国贸易代表办公室公布的清单显示，大多数的商品并不直接面向日常消费者，包括化学制品、药品、橡胶制品、金属制品、不锈钢产品、铝合金产品、涡轮喷气产品、发光二极管、摩托车和牙医设备等。
The proposed list covers approximately 1,300 products imported fromChina, including industries such as aerospace, information and communication technology, robotics, and machinery, the USTR's Office said in a statement, noting they're worth approximately 50 billion U.S. dollars of annual trade value.

TheUSside neglected the mutually beneficial nature of the 40-year-old China-US economic cooperation. It turned a deaf ear to the voices of the business communities and ignored the interests of consumers from the two sides. Such a move is in the national interest of neither theUSnorChina, and it is bad for the global economy.
美方做法严重违反了世贸组织的基本原则和精神，中方将立即将美方这一错误做法诉诸世贸组织争端解决机制。同时，我们将根据《中华人民共和国对外贸易法》相关规定，准备对美产品采取同等力度、同等规模的对等措施。这些措施，近日将会公布。我们有信心、有能力应对美方任何贸易保护主义措施。
What theUSdid severely violates the basic principles and spirit of the WTO. The Chinese side will immediately refer this wrong move by theUSside to the WTO dispute settlement system. Meanwhile, in accordance with the relevant stipulations of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic ofChina, we will take proportionate measures of the same intensity and scale on US products. These measures will be announced soon. We have the confidence and capability to counter any measure of trade protectionism taken by theUnited States.

Such unilateralistic and protectionist action has gravely violated fundamental principles and values of the WTO. It serves neitherChina’s interest, norUSinterest, even less the interest of the global economy.

As the Chinese saying goes, it is only polite to reciprocate. The Chinese side will resort to the WTO dispute settlement mechanism and take corresponding measures of equal scale and strength against US products in accordance with Chinese law.
