It is biting/bitterly cold.

天寒地冻。

Notes: 一种表达方法是在cold前加上修饰语，表示冷的程度，上述的quite（相当），awfully（非常）, severely（严重地）, biting（刺痛的）, bitterly（残酷地）和freezing（冰冻的）都加深了冷的程度。所以，除了干干地说一句“cold”，我们还可以加上这些修饰语。下面一组句子并没有使用cold, 而是用其他的单词或短语来表明天气严寒。看看哪一句适合你的城市吧！
